Understanding the System Analysis Page

Written by Mario Gorozpe

Overview

The System Analysis page is the primary workspace for reviewing how a solar PV system is performing. It brings together energy production data, irradiance measurements, performance ratios, and loss analytics in a single view — all scoped to the time period you choose. This article describes each component of the page and explains what it shows.

How to Reach the Analysis Page

You can open the Analysis page for any system from three different entry points:

1. PV Systems view — click the system name in the list to open the Analysis page directly.

2. Classic Dashboard — system names in the dashboard are clickable and open the Analysis page for that system.

3. Insights — clicking on any insight takes you directly to the Analysis page for that system, pre-loaded to the date of the insight.

Page Overview

The screenshot below shows the Analysis page at system level with all major components visible. The sections described in this article are numbered 1–7.

The Analysis page at system level showing the header (1), navigation tabs (2), KPI bar (3), period selector (4), level selector (5), main chart (6), and Energy Loss Waterfall (7).

1 — System Header

The top of the page displays the system name and its DC capacity in parentheses. The OEM vendor logo is shown on the left — this reflects the platform from which enSights.ai is syncing data for that system. A "Go to source" link is typically displayed alongside the name; clicking it opens the source platform directly, allowing you to cross-reference raw data from the originating system.

2 — Navigation Tabs

Below the header, a tab bar provides access to all system-level modules: Info, Analysis, Insights, Invoices, Documents, Maintenance, Cash Flow, Reminders, Obligations, Availability Adjustment Events, and Data Integrity. This article covers the Analysis tab only. The remaining tabs are documented separately.

3 — KPI Summary Bar

The KPI bar displays key performance indicators for the selected period (see Section 4). All values update when you change the period. The metrics shown from left to right are:

Metric

Description

Inverter Energy

Total energy production measured at the inverter level for the period.

Meter Energy

Total energy production measured at the meter level for the period. Displays 0Wh if no meter is configured.

Actual / Expected / Weather Adj.

Three energy values shown together: actual production, expected production, and weather-adjusted production. Weather-adjusted energy is calculated using POA irradiance, DC capacity of the inverters, and module temperature correction.

Actual vs Expected (%)

The percentage difference between actual and expected production, with a directional and color indicator (up or down).

Weather Adj. vs Expected (%)

The percentage difference between weather-adjusted production and expected production.

PR (Performance Ratio)

The ratio of actual energy output to the theoretically possible output based on irradiance.

PR Temp

Temperature-corrected Performance Ratio.

Availability

The percentage of time the system was available to produce energy.

Adjusted Availability

Availability adjusted for planned or excused downtime events.

Irradiation

Total solar irradiation received during the period (kWh/m²).
