Overview
The enSights.ai platform lets you export inverter-level data for any system in your portfolio. Depending on the time period you select, the export contains either high-resolution power and channel data (daily view, 15-minute intervals) or aggregated energy totals (weekly, monthly, yearly, or custom periods). You can download data in Excel or CSV format and choose the exact inverters you want to analyze. Use this feature to build reports, perform custom analysis, or share production data with your team or clients.
Before You Begin
Make sure the following conditions are met before starting the export:
• You have access to the system you want to export data from. If you cannot see a system in your portfolio, contact your account administrator.
• The system has connected inverters with historical data. Systems that have not yet reported data will not produce a meaningful export.
• You know the date range you need.
Exporting Inverter Energy Data
Follow these steps to navigate to the Inverters view and download your data.
Step 1: From the Portfolio Dashboard, click the name of the system you want to export data from. The System View opens for that site.
Step 2: In the left navigation menu, select Analysis, then click Inverters. The Inverters analysis view loads, displaying a chart and a list of all connected inverters for the system.
Step 3: Use the period button and selector at the top of the view to set the time range you want to visualize and export. The period you choose determines what data is available in the download — see Data Modes below for details.
Note: The graph updates on screen to reflect your selection. Always confirm the graph is showing the data you expect before clicking Export.
Step 4: In the inverter list, select the checkboxes next to each inverter you want to include in the export. To include all inverters, select the checkbox in the column header.
Note: Deselecting inverters before exporting lets you isolate specific devices — useful when troubleshooting a single underperforming unit.
Step 5: Click the Export or Download button in the upper-right area of the view.
Important: For very large date ranges or systems with many inverters, export generation may take up to a minute. If the download does not start after 60 seconds, try a shorter date range. Contact support at help.ensights.ai if the problem persists. |
Data Modes by Selected Period
The period you select in the view controls which data mode is used. The two modes differ in resolution, available variables, and how the export is structured.
Period Selected | Resolution | Data Available in Export |
Day | 15-minute intervals | AC Power, DC Power, DC Voltage, DC Current, AC Voltage (L1/L2/L3), AC Current (L1/L2/L3), AC Power (normalized), Temperature, Status, Error Code |
Week | 15-minute intervals | AC Power and AC Power Normalized |
Month | Daily values in a month | Energy, Energy (normalized), PR and Availability |
Year | Mothly values in a year | Energy and Energy (normalized) |
Custom range | Daily values in a range | Energy and Energy (normalized) |
Understanding the Exported File
Daily View (15-Minute Resolution)
When you select a single day, the export contains one column per variable and per inverter, on a 15-minute interval. Each Row is marked by the timestamp of the data.
If you see blank cells, the inverter did not report data for that interval. This typically indicates a communication gap or a period when the inverter was offline.
Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, and Custom Periods
When you select any period other than a single day (week, month, year, or a custom range), the export contains one column per inverter, and the row represents the timestamp, can be daily or monthly.
Power and channel data are not included in these exports. If you need granular power data over a longer span, export weekly data at a time using the weekly view.
Summarized energy values
We can also download summary data from the table shown in the bottom, just select the period and download the data, which will show the accumulated energy values for the selected period.
