Overview
The PV Dashboard is your central hub for monitoring the health, performance, and revenue of your entire solar portfolio. It gives you an at-a-glance view of what is happening across all your sites so you can quickly identify underperforming systems, open service issues, and environmental impact — without navigating into each system individually.
enSights.ai currently offers two dashboard versions: the Classic Dashboard and the New Dashboard. Both display portfolio-level data and support navigation into individual systems, but they differ in layout, asset coverage, and how you interact with performance and maintenance data. This article covers both versions and explains how to switch between them.
Classic Dashboard
The Classic Dashboard is the original portfolio view. It organises data into five sections across a two-column layout. Use it to review fleet-wide KPIs, scan the system list for outliers, and manage service calls directly from the dashboard.
Section 1 — KPI Bar
The KPI bar runs across the top of the dashboard and updates based on the selected time period. It shows five portfolio-level metrics:
KPI | What It Shows | Why It Matters |
Installed Capacity | Total DC capacity (MWp) across all systems | Confirms the total size of the portfolio under management |
Production | Energy generated in the selected period (kWh/MWh) | Primary indicator of how much the fleet produced |
Month to Date (MtD) | Cumulative production since the 1st of the current month | Tracks progress toward monthly targets mid-period |
Lifetime Production | Total energy ever generated across all systems | Measures the long-term output of the entire portfolio |
Service Calls | Number of open service calls (Incomplete) | Flags how many issues require action right now |
Section 2 — Fleet Map
The Fleet Map shows the geographic location of all your sites using color-coded pins. Switch between Map, Satellite, and Windy views using the tabs above the map. Pin colors reflect system status at a glance — green indicates normal operation, yellow indicates a warning, and red indicates an active alert.
Section 3 — PV Systems List
The PV Systems list on the right side of the dashboard shows all systems in a sortable table. Each row displays the system name, installed capacity, production for the selected period, revenue, normalised vs. expected ratio, expected production, and actual vs. expected variance. Revenue is always visible in the Classic Dashboard.
Click any column header to sort the list. Red values in the Actual vs. Expected column immediately highlight underperforming systems.
Tip: Sort by Actual vs. Expected to surface your worst-performing systems first and prioritise field investigation. |
Section 4 — Environmental Contributions
The Environmental Contributions bar at the bottom left shows two cumulative lifetime figures: CO₂ Emissions Saved (tons) and Equivalent Trees Planted. These values reflect the total environmental impact of the portfolio since inception, regardless of the selected time period.
Section 5 — Service Calls List
The Service Calls list at the bottom right shows all open service calls across the portfolio. Each row displays when the call was opened, the affected resource, a description of the issue, the alert count, priority level (High, Medium, or Low), and estimated energy loss.
This panel is not read-only. From here you can create new service calls, add comments, dismiss alerts, and close resolved calls — the same actions available in the full Maintenance module.
Important: Dismissing an alert from this panel removes it from the list immediately. Make sure the issue is resolved or intentionally deferred before dismissing. |
Changing the Time Period
The time period selector controls the data shown in the KPI bar and the PV Systems list. The Fleet Map and Environmental Contributions are not affected by the selected period.
Step 1: Locate the period selector at the top of the dashboard.
Step 2: Select a period: Monthly, Yearly, or Custom Range.
Step 3: For Custom Range, enter a start date and end date in the date picker. The dashboard updates immediately.
Navigating to a Specific System
From the Classic Dashboard you can navigate into any individual system to view detailed production data, inverter performance, and alerts.
Step 1: Find the system in the PV Systems list or on the Fleet Map.
Step 2: Click the system name in the list, or click its pin on the map. The system-level dashboard opens.
Step 3: To view inverter-level data, select the Inverters tab inside the system view.
New Dashboard
The New Dashboard is a redesigned portfolio view that extends beyond solar to cover all asset types — PV systems, battery storage, and EV charging stations — in a single screen. The flat system list is replaced by an interactive performance chart, and maintenance data is surfaced through clickable summary widgets rather than a scrollable list.
The New Dashboard is the recommended view for portfolios that include batteries or EV stations, or for any user who prefers a more visual, at-a-glance overview.
Section 1 — Asset Cards
The left sidebar shows one card per asset type: Solar (PV), Batteries, and EV Charging Stations. Each card displays the number of assets of that type, along with production, discharge or consumption figures, and revenue for the selected period. Cards can be collapsed using the arrow on the right.
Asset Card | Key Metrics Shown |
Solar | Asset count, Total Generation (energy + revenue), Total Expected, Total Losses |
Batteries | Asset count, Total Discharged (energy + revenue), Total Charged (energy + cost) |
Charging Stations | Asset count, Total Revenue, Total Profit, Total Consumption, Total EMSP Cost |
Section 2 — Fleet Map
The Fleet Map works the same way as in the Classic Dashboard. Map, Satellite, and Windy views are available via the tabs above the map. Click any site pin to navigate directly into that system's detail view.
Section 3 — Environmental Contributions
Located at the bottom of the left sidebar, this section shows the same lifetime CO₂ Emissions Saved and Equivalent Trees Planted figures as the Classic Dashboard. Values are cumulative and do not change with the selected period.
Section 4 — Systems Performance
The Systems Performance widget replaces the flat system list from the Classic Dashboard. It shows a donut chart that classifies all PV systems into three performance tiers: Optimal, Average, and Low. The number in each segment tells you how many systems fall into that category for the selected period.
Clicking any segment of the donut opens a filtered Systems table in a modal window. The table shows Name, Capacity, Inverter Production, Weather-Adjusted Energy, Actual vs. Weather performance, Created At date, and Group. You can search within the results and sort by any column.
Tip: Click the Low segment first each morning to immediately see which systems need attention, without searching through the full portfolio list. |
Section 5 — Maintenance Panel
The right panel consolidates all maintenance and operational intelligence for the portfolio into four widgets:
Widget | What It Shows | What You Can Do |
Alerts | Open and repetitive alerts broken down by priority (High, Medium, Low) in a donut chart | Click any segment to open a filtered list of matching alerts |
Service Calls | Count of Overdue and Upcoming service calls | Click either tile to open a filtered service call list; create, comment, dismiss, or close calls from there |
Upcoming Reminders | List of scheduled tasks and reminders with due dates | Review upcoming maintenance obligations at a glance |
SLA | Service level compliance broken down by time bracket (≥48 hours, ≥3 days, ≥1 week) | Click to drill into calls that are breaching or at risk of breaching SLA |
Changing the Time Period (New Dashboard)
The period selector is located in the top-right corner of the New Dashboard. It controls data shown in the Asset Cards and the Systems Performance widget.
Step 1: Click the Period selector in the top-right corner. It shows the current selection, such as "Monthly."
Step 2: Choose Monthly or Yearly.
Step 3: Use the arrow buttons beside the date to move forward or backward by one period. The dashboard updates immediately.
Navigating to a Specific System (New Dashboard)
Step 1: Click a site pin on the Fleet Map, or click an Asset Card in the left sidebar to open the system-level view for that asset type.
Step 2: From the system-level view, use the available tabs to explore production, inverter data, alerts, and more.
Switching Between Dashboards
Both dashboard versions are available to all users. You can switch at any time from the profile menu.
Step 1: Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Select "Switch to New Dashboard" or "Switch to Classic Dashboard" from the menu. The dashboard reloads in the selected version.
Tip: Your dashboard preference is saved to your profile. The next time you log in, enSights.ai will open the version you last selected. |
